Foot Pain in the Heat of Summer

Summer heat can be tough on your feet. As temperatures rise, prolonged walking, outdoor activities, and spending more time in sandals can contribute to foot pain and discomfort. Heat can also cause your feet and ankles to swell, making shoes feel tighter and increasing pressure on already sensitive areas.

Common summer foot problems include heel pain, blisters, swelling, arch pain, and discomfort from wearing unsupportive sandals or flip-flops. Going barefoot more often can also expose your feet to injuries, cuts, and strains.

If foot pain continues or becomes worse, don’t simply blame it on the summer heat. Persistent pain may be a sign of an underlying condition that needs professional attention.

A Louetta Foot & Ankle Specialists / Nagler Foot Center can evaluate your feet, identify the source of your discomfort, and recommend the appropriate treatment. With the right care, you can keep your feet healthy and comfortable throughout the season.

Don’t let summer foot pain slow you down. Schedule a podiatry evaluation and enjoy the rest of your summer on healthy, pain-free feet.
